Forward-deployed engineering with AI startups

I work as a forward-deployed engineer with AI startups, building custom skills on top of their AI assistant platforms. Each skill takes on real operational work for a client: organizing inboxes, turning event guest lists and meeting notes into ready-to-review follow-ups, running weekly planning, and building segmented outreach lists straight from a CRM. A person always stays in the loop, so the assistant drafts and checks its own work, but nothing sends or changes a record without approval.

Art-market research engine

A research application that pulls auction results from Sotheby's, Christie's, Artsy, and other houses and uses machine learning to estimate what a piece is worth. Built for art-secured lenders, fine-art insurers, and wealth managers who need a defensible number fast.

Every engagement starts with a free consultation. We talk through what's slow, repetitive, or risky in how your team works, and I follow up with a written proposal. Sometimes the right answer is to build you a custom tool; sometimes it's to train your team to use AI well. Either way, you decide if it makes sense before anything starts.

I'm Errol Hecht, founder of EMH Consulting. I'm based out of San Francisco, and I work with nonprofits, wealth advisors, law firms, and small and medium-sized businesses across the Bay Area and beyond.

I'm a solo operator, not an agency. I do all the scoping, building, training, and delivery myself. Your project is built by the person you talked to on the consultation.

I'm approachable, direct, and locally accountable. I don't use corporate language, I value your time, and I take confidentiality seriously. If AI is the wrong tool for the problem, I'll tell you so and not waste your week.
